A United Airlines flight carrying 165 passengers and eight crew members was forced to return to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on Thursday morning after blowing a tire during takeoff. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800 bound for Los Cabos, Mexico, landed safely at SFO around 11:45 a.m.

United quickly arranged for a replacement aircraft to transport the passengers to their destination later that afternoon. No injuries were reported among those on board.

The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into the cause of the blown tire.
