WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Dalen Cambre, an undrafted wide receiver who had 10 career catches across six college seasons, is generating significant buzz at New York Giants training camp with his spectacular, circus-like receptions.
Cambre’s unique approach to practice stems from his childhood, where he would leap over furniture to simulate making difficult catches. This mental preparation, he explained, allows him to execute extraordinary plays during drills. "You have to envision yourself making those plays whenever you are not practicing," Cambre said. "I go crazy sitting on the couch thinking, ‘What if I do this? What if I do this?’ Whenever I go to a workout, whether it be the offseason, on my own or practice, and you have that opportunity, I’ve already thought about it, so you are going out there like, ‘I already did this in my mind, I can do this in real life.’ "
The Giants signed Cambre after the 2025 draft, initially viewing him as a potential special teams player with experience as a gunner, holder, and emergency kicker and punter. His surprising aerial abilities, however, have caught the attention of the coaching staff and are making him a notable presence in camp.
