Ganna Kovrizhynkh, a Ukrainian national who went missing in the San Diego area over a year ago, has been located in Mexico, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday. Investigators confirmed her identity and determined she is currently residing in the Mexican state of Sinaloa.

Kovrizhynkh, 38 at the time of her disappearance, was reported missing by a friend in July 2025. She had been on a cross-country road trip, traveling from Hallandale Beach, Florida, to California. Her family last had contact with her on July 5, 2025, as she drove through San Diego County. Her vehicle and trailer were later found unattended in Potrero, a community north of the U.S.-Mexico border.

Deputies were able to contact Kovrizhynkh on August 7 and verify her well-being. The Sheriff's Office has notified the Ukrainian Embassy of her location.

Details surrounding Kovrizhynkh's voluntary crossing into Mexico remain unclear. Prior to her disappearance, she reportedly sent her mother a photograph of a letter along with GPS coordinates, which served as instructions to transfer her personal assets to her mother. Friends from Florida had not heard from her for months leading up to her being reported missing.

Kovrizhynkh also used the alias “Angel Volnaya.” An Instagram account under this name, which featured photos of her, appeared active before she vanished. In the account's posts, she described herself as a "psyhic-artist" and author of the book "Zeroing," which is described as "Witness to God so as an entrance to a parallel world." She was also tagged in photos appearing to show art exhibits.
