The Metropolitan Police will not take further action against Green Party leader Zack Polanski for re-posting an image of a man wearing a T-shirt with a guillotine and the slogan "we're only making plans for Nigel". Police determined that sharing the image did not constitute an offense.
However, the force stated that the wearing of the T-shirt itself should be recorded as a crime. A crime report has been referred to Avon and Somerset Police, who are responsible for the area in Bristol where the photo was taken.
Polanski has described his action as an "inadvertent mistake" in re-sharing the image on social media. A spokesperson for Reform UK commented on the decision, suggesting a disparity in the application of law, stating, "Once again we see that we are living in two tier Britain."
