A U.S. financial regulator has rejected the application for a banking license by Dutch fintech company Bunq. The regulator cited supervisory and compliance concerns as the basis for the decision.
According to the regulator, Bunq's application did not adequately explain how the company would maintain sufficient capital within the United States. This lack of clarity on capital adequacy was a key factor in the denial of the banking license.
