Two teenage boys, ages 13 and 15, have been identified as the victims of a shooting that occurred on a California beach, leaving two other individuals injured. Police responded to Moss Landing State Beach in Monterey County early Monday morning following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two deceased individuals at the scene with apparent gunshot wounds. Commander Andres Rosas of the Monterey County Sheriff's Office stated that a third person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and a fourth victim arrived at a separate hospital with gunshot wounds. The sheriff's office identified the deceased on Tuesday afternoon as Marco Antonio Perez, 15, and Nathaniel Flores, 13, both residents of Salinas.

Rosas indicated that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths is ongoing, and the official classification of the incident has not yet been determined. "We're not calling this a homicide. We haven't confirmed if this is a homicide or a suicide or any other type of death. We have not made that declaration yet," Rosas told reporters. "We are investigating the circumstances under which these individuals died as a result of gunshot wounds here at the scene."
