Two individuals from New York were arrested at a Costco in South Windsor, Connecticut, on Sunday for allegedly attempting to use fraudulent credit cards to steal merchandise. The South Windsor Police Department identified the suspects as Brittany A. Howard, 35, of the Bronx, and Kasheem M. Williams, 34, of Brooklyn.
According to authorities, store employees had been alerted that Howard and Williams may have attempted a similar fraudulent scheme at another Costco location in Enfield. Responding officers found 28 financial documents, all under different names, and merchandise believed to have been stolen from the Enfield store in the suspects' vehicle.
Both Howard and Williams had active out-of-state warrants at the time of their arrest. Williams had an extraditable warrant from Suffolk County, New York, for charges including burglary, strangulation, and assault. Howard had an extraditable warrant from Hudson County, New Jersey, for credit card theft charges.
The pair now face additional charges including counts of payment card theft, larceny, identity theft, and conspiracy. They were each held on $250,000 surety bonds and were scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Monday.
