President Trump vowed Wednesday to "beat the f—ing s— out of" Iran in response to a surprise missile attack by the Islamic Republic targeting U.S. troops stationed in Jordan.
All missiles launched by Iran were intercepted before U.S. and Saudi aircraft struck Tehran-backed militias in eastern Iraq. "We’ll be hitting them hard," Trump told Fox News chief foreign affairs correspondent Trey Yingst in an interview. "They’re going to get a beating."
Despite the plans for additional retaliation, Trump indicated that negotiations with Iran would continue, stating, "we’re going to let them keep talking." Iran’s attack had ended a multi-day pause in fighting between the two nations after the U.S. halted strikes on Iran the previous Friday, which Trump had described as progress in negotiations.
