A Donald Trump voter who previously expressed strong support for the former president has voiced significant anger and disillusionment, citing economic hardships and a feeling of being misled.

The caller, identified as John from Pennsylvania, appeared on SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Wrap-Up Show” and shared his frustrations with host Emily Jashinsky. John, who voted for Trump in the 2024 election, explained that his concerns stem from practical economic issues affecting his daily life.

"I’m self-employed. My insurance, my health insurance has turned into, now, like a huge mortgage payment with a huge deductible. I have two 16-year-old boys that just started driving on my insurance as well. That’s insane. Gas prices are insane," John stated. He added that his wife is also self-employed, and they are struggling to make ends meet.

While John expressed that he was “horrified at the thought” of former Vice President Kamala Harris winning the White House, he admitted to being angry with Trump. "But I got to tell you, I’m angry," he said, noting, "I trusted Trump and it’s so weird because I supported him completely, I trusted him 1,000%."

John described his insurance costs as a primary fear and a major concern, especially as he feels "clobbered now, and it’s hard to make ends meet." He referred to these issues as "kitchen table issues" that are highly significant to him.

The voter also touched on his political identity, stating he is “up in the air right now.” He recalled growing up in a household with an "old-school Democrat union guy" father but feels that political alignment no longer exists. He clarified that he does not align with what he described as "blue-haired liberals and this weird nonsense," but he also feels "upset" and questions if he was "lied to."
