Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Long Island on Friday, where he will tour Nassau County’s police facilities alongside Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman. The visit aims to "pay tribute" to the area's first responders.

During his trip, Trump also plans to release FBI statistics for 2025 that are expected to show the largest year-to-year decrease in violent crime, according to The Daily Caller. He is anticipated to be joined by FBI Director Kash Patel and newly sworn-in Attorney General Todd Blanche.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman expressed his gratitude for Trump's visit, stating, "I am grateful that President Trump is coming to Nassau County. To tour our outstanding, state-of-the-art law enforcement facilities and pay tribute to the men and women of our Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, Probation Department, and our firefighters for their outstanding efforts to protect our county, state, and country."

The visit coincides with a state-imposed deadline in New York requiring local governments to submit plans for ending cooperation with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Blakeman, who has been a vocal opponent of the new sanctuary state measures, has vowed to maintain Nassau County's partnership with ICE. He previously visited Trump at the White House in May, weeks before making this vow.

Blakeman, a long-time ally of Trump, received the former president's endorsement in his gubernatorial campaign against incumbent Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul. Trump and Blakeman have appeared together previously, including at the wake for slain NYPD officer Jonathan Diller in Massapequa Park in March 2024. Trump also attended the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black with Blakeman, where he had Air Force One fly over the course.
