Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a rally with law enforcement officials in Nassau County, New York, on Friday. The event, to be held at the Nassau County Police Academy, will feature remarks from Trump, Attorney General Todd Blanche, and FBI Director Kash Patel. The rally aims to highlight what the former president's office describes as a historic drop in violent crime across the United States.

Trump is expected to present statistics from the FBI’s forthcoming 2025 Crime Statistics Report, which reportedly shows significant decreases in various crime categories. These include an estimated 18.1% reduction in murder and non-negligent manslaughter, and an 18.5% decrease in robberies. Other reported declines involve rapes (7.6%), aggravated assaults (7.2%), burglaries (15.8%), larceny (9.8%), and motor vehicle theft (22.7%). The FBI began recording crime statistics in 1936, and the reported figures represent the largest year-to-year decrease in violent crime since that time.

"President Trump will visit the Nassau County Police Academy to do a rally with cops. President Trump promised to make America safe again and the data proves he has done just that," White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis told Fox News Digital. Bis added that Trump "will always stand with our law enforcement officers and deliver safer American neighborhoods."

This event follows a period of increased federal action on crime reduction. The White House noted that FBI arrests have surged and gangs have been dismantled during the previous administration, leading to sharp crime declines in cities such as Washington, D.C. and Memphis. The rally in New York is intended to underscore Trump's "law and order" policies and their purported impact on crime rates.

Earlier in the week, the Trump administration marked one year since the deployment of the National Guard to Washington, D.C., as part of an initiative to curb lawlessness. FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the nation's capital is now safer than it has been in decades, attributing this to the federal resource surge and the work of law enforcement. Over the past year, the FBI, in coordination with law enforcement partners, reportedly made over 6,000 arrests, seized nearly 2,000 illegal drugs, and confiscated over 1,300 firearms in D.C. Patel indicated that federal resources would remain in the city.
