Former President Donald Trump recently faced scrutiny for his use of the phrase "moving cameras" when attempting to describe video evidence he claimed showed vandalism at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. The remarks, made on Monday, left observers questioning his recollection and vocabulary.

Trump expressed frustration with U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, for dropping criminal charges against former Olympic athlete David Hearn. Hearn had been accused of damaging the reflecting pool, but Pirro's office stated the damage resulted from a faulty installation, not vandalism.

In response, Trump stated Pirro "folded like an umbrella" and insisted he possessed evidence of vandalism. When asked to elaborate on this evidence, Trump gestured towards cameras and said, "We have photographs, or tapes... like moving cameras, right?" He presumably meant to refer to video footage that he alleged showed individuals slashing the pool's lining with a "box knife." However, no such evidence from these "moving cameras" has been publicly released.

Critics took to social media platform X to express their bewilderment at Trump's choice of words to describe video evidence.
