Former President Donald Trump has drawn criticism for his latest use of artificial intelligence, employing a generated image of himself with George Washington to promote a planned White House ballroom.

The AI-generated content, shared across Trump's social media platforms over the weekend, depicts Trump and the nation's first president gesturing within the ballroom. The image features two American flags with an incorrect number of stripes.

Trump captioned the post, "Thank you, George, for some of your brilliant ideas on this great Military Complex/Ballroom! President DJT." He has recently begun referring to the facility as a "military complex/ballroom," a designation critics suggest is an attempt to bolster a national security argument for the project amid ongoing legal challenges and public scrutiny.

Initially, Trump stated that private donors would fund the ballroom, asserting that taxpayer money would not be used. However, reports indicate that construction costs have escalated to approximately $600 million, with U.S. taxpayers bearing half of that expense.

The project has faced widespread criticism, particularly concerning the allocation of substantial funds for a lavish facility while the nation confronts various crises, including international conflicts, economic pressures, and trade disputes. Critics have expressed outrage over the focus on the ballroom's construction amid these pressing national concerns.
