The directive, issued via a post on his Truth Social platform, instructs CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz to end the use of Medicaid funds for such procedures.
Trump characterized the surgeries as "barbaric" and stated that they cause "unthinkable and irreversible harm to their young bodies." The announcement signifies a policy shift on the use of public funds for gender-affirming care for minors under the joint federal and state health insurance program.
