Former President Donald Trump reacted with anger to questions from two reporters about his administration's decision to waive sweeping new sanctions against Russia. The exchanges occurred on Wednesday, with Trump specifically targeting CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins and ABC News White House correspondent Karen Travers.
When Collins questioned whether the decision to delay sanctions was connected to Russia's release of U.S. prisoner Stephen Hubbard, Trump responded by calling her "fake news CNN" and asserting that she "don’t know anything." He further stated, "You don’t know what you’re talking about. You’re a dummy. You’re a low-IQ person. You’re a dummy, and you work for CNN." The White House shared a video of this exchange on X, with a caption that read, "Trump demolishes Fake News Collins" accompanied by a crying-with-laughter emoji.
Shortly after, when Travers pressed Trump on the same subject, he similarly directed his anger towards her. "Are you a stupid person? Who do you work for?" Trump asked. Upon learning she worked for ABC News, he declared, "You’re a stupid person. And by the way, your network is the worst of all." This interaction was also shared by the White House on X, labeling Travers as "another Faker."
