Former President Donald Trump became agitated Thursday evening when ABC News reporter Rachel Scott asked about his promise to send $5,000 checks to every American adult if Republicans win the midterm elections.

"If your economic policies are working, why do you need an incentive for people to turn out to vote?" Scott inquired.

Trump responded that the checks were not an incentive for voting but rather a "reward" for Americans enduring what he described as the negative consequences of President Joe Biden's policies over the past four years.

When Scott attempted to follow up with a question regarding previously promised tariff refund checks that were not delivered, Trump cut her off, repeatedly stating, "Not you! Not you!" He then leaned toward the reporter and reiterated the phrase.

Trump also directed criticism at Scott's network, calling it "the worst."

While Trump has a history of publicly criticizing female reporters and the media at large, his interactions with women covering him have often been particularly sharp. He has previously insulted The New York Times' Katie Rogers, calling her "ugly," and referred to Times colleague Maggie Haberman as "Maggot Hagerman." Other instances include calling Bloomberg's Catherine Lucey "Quiet, piggy!" and labeling CNN's Kaitlan Collins "Very dumb and unhappy."
