Donald Trump spent election night posting furiously on Truth Social as many of the Republican candidates he endorsed and helped select in primaries suffered significant losses. Despite the widespread setbacks for his party, Trump denied responsibility, asserting that he would have won "in a landslide" if he had been on the ballot.

Throughout the evening, Trump criticized Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who lost his race, accusing him of becoming a "RINO" (Republican In Name Only). Trump also attacked Fox News for featuring former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio on air, blaming the network for contributing to the GOP's losses.

In one post, Trump declared his intention to become a "political pundit" and analyze the reasons behind each candidate's victory or defeat. He also frantically contacted reporters via calls and texts as the results unfolded. Many of the candidates Trump had campaigned for in recent weeks, some in races considered safe Republican seats for decades, ultimately lost.

By January, Democrats are projected to hold clear majorities in both the House and the Senate.
