Ahead of the midterm election results, former President Donald Trump made frantic phone calls and publicly criticized Fox News. Trump told CBS News in a phone interview that he possesses "ultimate power" through his veto, while also appearing to lay the groundwork for excuses in case of significant Republican losses.

Trump also contacted the Financial Times, assuring a reporter that the U.S. had no immediate plans to strike Iran. His frustration extended to Fox News, as he reportedly texted commentator Greg Gutfeld to express his disapproval of liberal host Jessica Tarlov.

Earlier in the evening, Trump had posted on his Truth Social platform, criticizing Tarlov's commentary and voice, stating, "DUMB AS A ROCK, but it’s the voice that gets me." He added that he would "be back later" once the commentator was off the air.

Shortly after, he attacked Fox News polls, calling them "the worst" and "insulting" with their questions. Trump claimed, "Every question is a hit job, and every answer is ‘BULLSHIT!’ This has been going on for years."

In a post that a reporter described as rambling, Trump also blamed a potential Republican defeat on the network, asserting, "No wonder FoxNews Ratings are collapsing, and they’re going to go down a lot further."

He argued that the decline in ratings was not due to him but because Fox News was "AGAINST me!" Trump recalled a similar situation from the past when, he claimed, "Fox almost collapsed. It’s happening again!"
