President Trump on Tuesday criticized three of his Supreme Court nominees after they voted to block new rules governing mail-in ballots from taking effect before the November elections. Trump specifically called out Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh, stating they were "a shell of their original selves."

"This Supreme Court is bullied and cajoled by the Radical Left into making decisions that have set America back at least a hundred years," Trump wrote in a social media post. Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas were the only justices who sided with the former president.

Trump had asked the high court to stay a lower court's decision that enjoined his March order. The proposed rules would have required each state to compile a list of eligible voters. Absentee ballots were to be sent only to individuals on that approved list, with secure envelopes and barcodes intended to prevent election fraud. The Supreme Court's decision means these new rules will not be implemented.
