Former President Donald Trump has asserted that his approval ratings are strong and that voters are not angry with Republicans, despite recent polls suggesting otherwise. He claims that negative surveys are fabricated by the "Fake News Media."

"My REAL Polling Numbers, not those made up by the Fake News Media, are the best they have ever been," Trump stated in a social media post. He further characterized the polls as "Crooked and Corrupt," aligning them with what he described as "Country Destroying Dumocrats."

These statements come as the November midterm elections approach. Recent surveys indicate that Democrats are leading Republicans on generic ballots. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released this week found that 42% of registered voters would support a Democratic congressional candidate, compared to 37% for a Republican candidate.

Similarly, a CNN/SSRS poll showed that 47% of registered voters would back a Democratic congressional candidate if an election were held that day, while 39% would choose a Republican. This 8-point gap represents an increase from a 5-point difference recorded in January.

Trump's claims of popularity contrast with his own approval ratings, which recent reports have placed at 33%. This figure is noted as being significantly lower than at previous points in his presidency.
