The Trump administration has released its fourth tranche of declassified documents related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), adding dozens of records, including videos and photographs, to the government's public archive. The Department of War stated that "it is time the American people see for themselves" the information gathered on these unexplained sightings.
Among the newly released materials are videos depicting an eight-pointed object over East Asia, a jellyfish-like UAP over the Atlantic Ocean, and an oddly shaped craft observed in the western United States. These files span decades and include military sightings, radar detections, and cases that remain unresolved after investigation.
One particularly notable document details an incident at the Pantex nuclear weapons plant in Texas in 2015. According to a Department of Energy report, security teams responded after radar detected a silent, diamond-shaped object flying at an altitude of 100 to 200 feet above the facility. The object reportedly had no visible means of propulsion before disappearing, prompting analysis by Sandia National Laboratories and an FBI investigation.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth emphasized the administration's commitment to transparency regarding UAP. The Department of War's website has reportedly received significant traffic since the launch of its UAP file archive.
The released footage includes an 18-second video captured in 2025 by an infrared sensor aboard a US military platform over the Yellow Sea in East Asia. The video shows an object resembling a six-pointed star moving over the water. The Department of War noted that redactions were applied to protect sensitive information.
Another declassified video, provided by the US Navy's Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF), appears to have been filmed in 1996 over an undisclosed location in the western US. This two-minute, 57-second clip shows a circular craft with wings. The Department of War cautioned that the descriptions accompanying these videos are for informational purposes and do not represent official conclusions.
The release also features a still from a 2020 video taken over the Atlantic Ocean, described by witnesses as a maroonish object about 12-15 feet in height, drawing comparisons to a previously reported jellyfish UAP.
The collection also includes the COMETA Report, a study by retired French military officials and defense experts that posits the extraterrestrial hypothesis as a plausible explanation for some UAP encounters. The report advises governments to treat the phenomenon as a national security issue and prepare for the possibility of non-human intelligence.
