Trevor Carey, the afternoon drive-time host at Power Talk radio in Fresno, has left the station after a decade on air. Carey confirmed to the Fresno Bee that he was one of several employees impacted by nationwide layoffs conducted by parent company iHeartMedia on Wednesday.

Radio Insight, a trade publication, reported that these layoffs represent the largest workforce reduction at iHeartMedia since 2020. Carey’s final broadcast on 96.7 FM and 1400 AM aired Tuesday, concluding his 10-year tenure where he covered local and national politics from a conservative viewpoint. By Wednesday, the station had removed Carey’s page from its website.

Carey joined Power Talk in 2016, taking over the 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. slot. Prior to his time in Fresno, he hosted radio programs in Modesto. He also recently published an autobiography detailing his broadcasting career and personal journey overcoming addiction.

The syndicated program "The Jesse Kelly Show," based in Houston, has replaced Carey in the afternoon drive-time slot, according to reports.
