Travis Kelce has shared details about his wedding to Taylor Swift, explaining why Madison Square Garden was chosen as the venue for their July 3 ceremony. Speaking on the "New Heights" podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce described the event as "magical" and highlighted the intimate and genuine setting the iconic New York City venue provided.
"We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions," Kelce said. He thanked the staff at MSG for facilitating a private atmosphere for the couple and their guests. "MSG went above and beyond to give us that," he added.
Kelce, 36, reflected on the night, stating, "The night was a night we’ll never forget. Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, you know, from the vows to just seeing everyone to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening."
He specifically mentioned Adam Sandler, calling him "the 'f–king best person' to get ordained in the state of New York to officiate the wedding." Kelce, who is over a month removed from the nuptials, also noted that he has enjoyed hearing guests recount their experiences from the night. He previously broke his silence on the wedding last month during his team's training camp, calling it "the best night of [his] life" and a "crazy night."
In addition to wedding details, Kelce also spoke for the first time about the couple's dog, Wendy, a Samoyed. "Little ‘ol Wendy’s a little over a year old now," he stated on the podcast. "We’ve had her for quite a while. Trying to keep it under wraps." Reports from July indicated the couple had acquired the dog several months prior and were "very happy."
