Travis Kelce has confirmed that he and his wife, Taylor Swift, have added a new member to their family: a white Samoyed puppy named Wendy. The pup made its public debut alongside Kelce in a campaign for Tommy Hilfiger.
Kelce shared that Wendy was featured in the fashion brand's advertisement, appearing with him on the roof of the Plaza Hotel in New York City. The dog also has a cameo in a campaign video, accompanying Kelce through the hotel. Kelce mentioned that Tommy Hilfiger was looking to cast a dog for the advert when he suggested Wendy. "We figured, why not her? She crushed it and actually really fit into that Tommy aesthetic, too," Kelce told Vogue, adding, "She lights up my day."
Whispers about the new pet had been circulating for months. In March, a white Samoyed was seen at Westchester County Airport with Swift's security detail. This sighting came after Swift had previously denied owning a dog on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," stating, "I have never walked a dog in Florida or maybe ever."
The dog's name, Wendy, was reportedly inspired by a designer couch Kelce purchased. His brother, Jason Kelce, recounted on the "Fitz & Whit" podcast that Travis had bought expensive "green velvet, over-the-top couches." When Jason visited Travis's home about six months later, one of the couches had been pushed aside, with Jason noting, "He just got a puppy. The puppy had chewed a hole in the back of it."
This is Swift's fourth pet. She is already known for her three cats: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button, all of whom have achieved a degree of celebrity themselves, appearing in music videos and on magazine covers. The couple tied the knot on July 3 at Madison Square Garden.
