Travis Barker has spoken candidly about the dissolution of his first marriage to Melissa Kennedy, attributing its end to his relentless touring schedule with Blink-182. The drummer shared these reflections in his new documentary, "Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear," which is now available on Hulu.
"I was touring with Blink non-stop. It was tough, especially since I was married at the time," Barker stated in the film. "I kind of realized that the relationship wasn’t working out for either of us anymore."
Barker and Kennedy were married for less than a year, having tied the knot in September 2001 and filing for divorce in August 2002. According to the documentary, a significant argument between Barker and Kennedy over his burgeoning music career served as the final catalyst for their separation. Barker ultimately prioritized his commitment to the band, which led to the end of their marriage.
"I went to back to LA soon after that," Barker recounted. "And life just kept getting crazier and crazier."
Following his divorce from Kennedy, Barker married Shanna Moakler in October 2004. He became a stepfather to Moakler's daughter, Atiana De La Hoya, and together they had two children, Landon and Alabama. The couple separated in 2006, and despite an on-again, off-again relationship, their divorce was finalized in 2008.
Barker has since married Kourtney Kardashian in May 2022. The documentary also touches upon their relationship, including their shared experience of a miscarriage and their subsequent natural conception of their son, Rocky.
"Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear" is currently streaming on Hulu.
