A concert by the band Train at the Jones Beach Amphitheater was significantly delayed Saturday evening due to a severe thunderstorm that swept across Long Island. Videos shared online showed attendees scrambling for shelter as strong winds, driving rain, and lightning hit the waterfront venue.

Fans were seen huddling indoors while waiting out the storm, with some expressing concern about their safety. One video captured gusting winds moving stage equipment across the pavement as people sought cover. Another clip showed concertgoers reacting to nearby lightning strikes.

The extreme weather also caused disruptions across the New York City metropolitan area, leading to flight delays at local airports and impacting travel on major expressways. Flash flooding was reported in several parts of the city, including the SoHo neighborhood.

Despite the severe weather and the delay, the concert eventually proceeded after the storm passed. Train, known for hits like "Drops of Jupiter," took the stage after the opening act, Barenaked Ladies, had performed. The show ultimately went on, albeit after a significant interruption caused by the turbulent weather conditions.
