Tracy Shaw marked her 53rd birthday with gratitude and family, continuing her public journey through a breast cancer battle. The Coronation Street actress, diagnosed in April, shared photos on Instagram with her brother Karl and son Luca.

"53 & grateful," Shaw posted, thanking a breast cancer survivor for gifts and expressing a profound sense of appreciation for being alive. "Never been as grateful to be alive on a birthday. Looking forward to next years celebration."

Last week, Shaw revealed that her breast cancer tumors are currently inoperable. She shared an update after an ultrasound, noting that while chemotherapy has changed the shape of the lesions on her left breast from circular to oval, they have not decreased in size. She also confirmed that a lump found on her right breast was benign cysts.

In May, Shaw shared an emotional video announcing her upcoming chemotherapy treatment. She admitted the diagnosis had taken a toll, stating, "I can't go through this anymore." She described the uncertainty of receiving medical news and the mental challenge of her ongoing treatment.

Shaw, known for her role as Maxine Peacock on Coronation Street from 1995 to 2003, began her cancer journey shortly after her diagnosis. She previously shared that she had cut much of her hair to prepare for potential hair loss due to chemotherapy. Shaw's character Maxine was notably murdered by Richard Hillman in the soap opera.
