Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth continue to be close friends following Spelling's departure from their joint podcast, "9021OMG."
An insider told Page Six on Friday that there was "no falling out" between the "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-stars, who remain "great friends." The source echoed previous statements from both actresses that Spelling is stepping away from the rewatch podcast, which they launched in 2020, to "pursue other opportunities."
Earlier this week, Spelling announced her exit via Instagram Live, stating she wanted to focus on other projects. She encouraged fans to continue listening to Garth's recaps of the '90s teen drama series and to stay tuned for more from herself. The podcast was in the midst of dissecting Season 8 of "Beverly Hills, 90210," which originally aired for 10 seasons from 1990 to 2000, when Spelling stopped appearing.
"Tori has not participated on the podcast in recent weeks, but Jennie is passionately excited to continue to rewatch," a source told Us Weekly. Garth addressed Spelling's exit to "9021OMG" listeners, expressing sadness that her co-host would not be finishing the podcast with her. "We started this together, and I'm sad about that, if I'm honest — which I always am," Garth said. However, she added that she was "really happy" and "really excited" for Spelling to "choose herself."
Producer Amy Sugarman also commented on the situation, stating that there were "many reasons" behind Spelling's decision. Sugarman confirmed that Spelling made the "tough decision" to leave approximately two weeks prior and that the departure was "100 percent" Spelling's choice. Sugarman also noted that "two things can be true" simultaneously, acknowledging that while they are "bummed and disappointed" that Spelling won't complete Seasons 9 and 10 with Garth, they also want her to be happy and excited about her new endeavors. Garth indicated that she has "a lot of great stuff in store" and will "finish so strong" with Sugarman and "special guests."
