Tom Brady's new trading card store, CardVault, in Palo Alto was burglarized over the weekend, just a week after its grand opening. The NFL legend had attended the store's opening on August 15.

According to police, suspects broke a window and smashed several display cases inside the store, making off with 60 trading cards valued at more than $12,000. The individuals responsible have not yet been apprehended.

The CardVault store specializes in trading cards and sports collectibles, including autographed memorabilia. The business also sells non-sports collectibles such as Pokémon and Magic trading cards.

The Palo Alto location is the 19th CardVault store and the third in California, with other locations in San Francisco and Sacramento. Brady, who grew up in nearby San Mateo, has spoken about his lifelong passion for sports cards.

This is not the first time a CardVault location has been targeted. In November of the previous year, a separate incident at a CardVault store in New York City resulted in the theft of $10,000 worth of baseball and Pokémon cards. In that case, the suspect allegedly manipulated the tap-to-pay system to deceive an employee.

The grand opening event in Palo Alto drew significant attention, with fans reportedly waiting hours for a potential appearance from Brady. He was present at the opening, posing for photos, signing memorabilia, and interacting with fans.
