A 2-year-old was rescued unharmed after being left in a running vehicle that was stolen in Georgia, authorities said. Saleem Martin, 21, has been arrested and faces multiple charges including kidnapping, theft by taking, simple battery, entering an automobile, cruelty to children, and criminal attempt to commit a felony, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Investigators determined the vehicle had been left running with the child inside on Thursday. The child's mother told 911 dispatchers she was dropping off an Instacart order when her car was taken with her daughter in the back seat, according to a recording of the 911 call. Atlanta police released body camera footage of the incident on Friday.

Officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle within 15 minutes using license plate readers, police said. Body camera footage shows officers approaching the car, instructing the suspect to raise his hands and exit the vehicle. The suspect was immediately handcuffed, and the child could be heard crying in the footage as officers consoled her. The child was reunited with her parents.

It is unclear if Martin has legal representation.
