A two-year-old girl, identified as Riley Howard of San Jose, died following a fiery car crash in front of Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California. The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner confirmed her identity on Sunday afternoon.

The collision occurred around noon on Friday, involving two vehicles. Upon arrival, first responders found Howard and an adult woman with serious injuries, and one of the cars engulfed in flames. Bystanders discovered the toddler unconscious and administered CPR until paramedics arrived.

Both Howard and the woman were transported to a local hospital. The child succumbed to her injuries, while the adult woman remains in critical condition. Authorities have not disclosed their relationship. The driver of the second vehicle, an adult male, sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash. The male driver has been arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, according to police.

'This is a heartbreaking tragedy for everyone affected,' said Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Captain Neil Valenzuela. 'Our thoughts are with the child's family and loved ones as they navigate an unimaginable loss.'

A memorial service for Howard was held on Saturday evening, with community members gathering to honor the child.
