A three-year-old girl has died after her head became trapped in a kitchen playset at a home in Palm Beach County, Florida. The incident occurred on the morning of July 23 when the child was in the care of a babysitter.

According to Boynton Beach Police, the children were with a nanny who left them in her spouse's supervision while she went out. The spouse remained upstairs, periodically checking on the children playing downstairs and providing them with snacks. During one of these checks, the spouse discovered the three-year-old with her head stuck in the kitchen playset.

The spouse removed the child and began performing life-saving measures until first responders arrived. The child's sibling reportedly told authorities that the toddler had been attempting to retrieve toys that had fallen into the playset when she became stuck.

Officers were dispatched to the home in Meadows of Boynton Beach shortly after 11 a.m. following a report that the child was unresponsive and not breathing. Upon arrival, officers initiated life-saving measures. Boynton Beach Fire Rescue transported the child to a local hospital in critical condition. She tragically died four days later, on July 27.

The cause of the toddler's death has not been disclosed. Police are continuing their investigation, and no charges have been filed in connection with the incident.

Neighbors described the family as "great" and "attentive." One neighbor, Michelle, expressed the profound grief felt in the community, stating, "I just can't imagine how she's going to deal with this for the rest of her life. It's just tragic."

Kathy Wall, president of Safe Kids Palm Beach County, issued a statement emphasizing the importance of active supervision for children's safety. "Our kids are our greatest assets, they're our future, and we have to be present for them, day to day," Wall said. "We have to have active supervision in keeping them safe."
