Today show host Sarah Abo and her husband, Cyrus Moran, have welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Sonny. Abo shared the news on Instagram on Friday morning, posting black-and-white images of the couple with their newborn in the hospital.

"What a week with our little man. He came into the world a little early but that gave us a little longer to marvel at you, our beautiful boy," Abo wrote in the caption. "We love you so infinitely darling."

She also expressed gratitude for the "incredible doctors and midwives" who cared for them over a two-week hospital stay. "Thank you for taking such good care of us, you are all angels and we are forever grateful," she added.

Abo, 40, had previously revealed that she was placed on maternity leave earlier than anticipated due to pregnancy complications, including high blood pressure. She spent time in and out of the hospital under medical supervision.

"Thankfully I'm in the safe hands of magnificent doctors, nurses and midwives taking incredibly good care of bub and me. We are both well," she had informed followers. Doctors had ordered her to remain on bed rest for close monitoring of her pregnancy.

This announcement follows Abo's emotional reveal in March on the Today show that she and Moran were expecting. During the segment, she disclosed that they had experienced two miscarriages before conceiving their son.

"I know it's obviously very happy news, but it hasn't been the easiest journey to get here, which I know a lot of our beautiful viewers out there have been through this and are feeling this right now, because it's not as easy as some might think pregnancy is," she said at the time. She described their journey as "a bit of a bumpy ride" before becoming visibly pregnant.

Abo expressed that she approached the pregnancy with "cautious optimism" following her previous losses. By sharing her fertility struggles publicly, she aimed to offer support to others facing similar experiences.

In the caption, Sarah revealed her baby's sweet name, writing: 'Hi there, you can call me Sonny'

One of the shared photos showed Abo and Moran holding Sonny while a laptop playing a football game was visible in the background, with the newborn wrapped in a Sydney Swans scarf.
