Comedian and actor Tiffany Haddish has celebrated a public response from the White House regarding her jokes about President Donald Trump. Haddish, who has been guest hosting "Jimmy Kimmel Live," advised Kimmel to consider Trump a worthy source of material.

"Jimmy, I hope you do the right thing and take Donald Trump as your date," Haddish said. "No one’s given you more material than that dude. He’s the best writer you got."

Haddish has continued the show's tradition of joking about the president, and one particular comment earlier in the week prompted a reaction from the White House.

"The president is very focused on issues that matter right now — and apparently, I’m one of them," Haddish announced, expressing pleasure at the attention. "I got a shout out from the White House today."

She had previously joked about Trump's involvement with the World Cup, noting the U.S. team's loss to Belgium shortly after his engagement. "It seems like everything Trump touches dies — which I guess is why his tiny hands are all fucked up," Haddish quipped on Tuesday.

Haddish indicated that a reporter from USA Today had sought comment from the White House about her joke. White House spokesperson David Ingle was quoted in the newspaper asking, "Who the hell is Tiffany Haddish?"

"This is exciting. The White House is mad at me, y’all," Haddish said. "This is the day that I finally become Jimmy Kimmel."
