Three-Year-Old Among Seven Shot in Baltimore

A three-year-old boy was among seven people wounded in a shooting incident in Baltimore on Wednesday night. The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. in central Baltimore, according to police.

An officer in the vicinity heard the gunshots and responded to the scene, where they discovered the child and other victims. Officers placed the toddler into a patrol car and transported him to a nearby hospital, bypassing the need for an ambulance. Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley stated that the child underwent surgery.

Police believe multiple individuals were involved in firing shots, but the exact number of gunmen remains undetermined. Investigators plan to review surveillance footage from the area to identify the perpetrators and understand the sequence of events leading up to the attack. Worley described the gunmen as "cowards."

Despite the severity of the incident, authorities indicated that the injuries sustained by all seven victims are not life-threatening. Five of the other six victims received medical attention at the scene before being taken to a local hospital. Another victim self-transported to a hospital after the shooting. The identities and ages of the other six injured individuals have not been released.
