Thousands of people participated in an anti-racism demonstration in Edinburgh, approximately one week after a series of incidents that led to multiple injuries and are being investigated as terrorism-linked. The Reclaim Our Streets rally saw participation from politicians, trade unions, local residents, and community organizations.
The demonstration followed five incidents on June 19 that reportedly began near a mosque in the western part of the city and concluded in Leith Walk. A man has since been charged with five counts of attempted murder, with the acts linked to terrorism. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Lewis Hawkes, has made no plea and is currently in custody.
