A Texas man, Jake Bigoni, 37, has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of his estranged wife, Eliana Bigoni. Police discovered Eliana Bigoni deceased inside her estranged husband's Plano apartment on Wednesday after a friend reported her missing.

Authorities initiated a welfare check after Eliana failed to appear for a scheduled breakfast and could not be reached. The friend informed officers that Eliana was in the process of a divorce from Jake Bigoni and was on her way to pick up their two young children, ages 2 and 5, who were present in the apartment at the time of the incident.

Jake Bigoni's mother also contacted police, stating her son had called her in distress and confessed, "I have something to tell you. She’s dead. We got in a fight and she’s dead."

Upon arrival at Jake Bigoni's apartment, officers observed a large stain on his shirt, which he attributed to cleaning. Eliana Bigoni's body was found in the trunk of a white Hyundai in the apartment's garage. Officials reported significant damage to her head and face.

Bigoni was initially taken into custody on a charge of abuse of a corpse before the murder charge was added. He is currently being held in jail without bond. Reports indicate Jake Bigoni has a history of violent behavior.
