Jeff and Janice Ivey, originally from New Braunfels, Texas, are in the process of relocating to Wrexham after developing a deep fondness for the Welsh city and its inhabitants. Their interest was initially sparked by the documentary series that chronicles the ownership of Wrexham AFC by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The couple has visited Wrexham seven times over the past two and a half years, growing to appreciate the city's heritage and community. Jeff Ivey, 62, who has Scottish ancestry and holds UK citizenship, is currently searching for a home in Wrexham. Janice Ivey, 65, is back in the United States finalizing the sale of their home and awaiting her visa.

Their journey to Wrexham began in 2024 after watching an episode of the series that featured the local band, the Declan Swans. An initial inquiry about merchandise led to a series of email exchanges with the band's singer, Michael Hett, who eventually encouraged the couple to visit the city. Jeff Ivey noted that the initial minor issue with their merchandise order, which led to continued correspondence, ultimately "piqued their interest" in visiting.
