A teenager accused of stabbing a teacher at Milford Haven Comprehensive School stated in court that he brought a knife to school as part of a "game" to show off household items to his friends. The 16-year-old, who cannot be named, has denied attempted murder, wounding with intent, and unlawful wounding, though he previously admitted to possessing a knife.

During his testimony, the boy told the jury that he and his friends had been bringing "random household objects" into school to see "what they could get away with." When questioned about his choice of the largest knife from his home, he explained that he wanted "the most impressive one to show his friends." He denied that he wanted teachers to discover the knife or that he intended to use it in a violent manner or to deliberately injure the teacher.

The incident occurred on February 5, when emergency services were called to the school. Vicki Williams, a teacher at the school, testified that the boy followed her into a classroom to ask for assistance with his history work before allegedly lunging at her and stabbing her in the head.

The defendant, who was 15 at the time of the incident, stated that he had chosen to study history and denied any animosity between himself and Ms. Williams, also denying any significant arguments or falling out. He described Ms. Williams as a "good" teacher.

The trial is ongoing at Swansea Crown Court.
