Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs' season opener game, choosing to support her husband, Travis Kelce, over attending the Emmy Awards. The pop star was seen in Kelce's luxury suite at Arrowhead Stadium for the game against the Denver Broncos.
Swift was joined by Hollywood actor Tom Cruise for the Monday Night Football matchup. Her father, Scott, and Kelce's mother, Donna, were also present in the suite. Cruise has past cinematic connections to football, having played the lead in "Jerry Maguire" and starred as a high school football player in "All the Right Moves."
Swift's attendance at the Chiefs' game came as the 2026 Emmy Awards were also taking place. Her concert film, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour - The Final Show," had received five Emmy nominations, including Best Variety Special (Prerecorded) and Best Directing for a Variety Special. However, the film did not win any awards at the Creative Arts Emmys held earlier in the month, leading Swift to reportedly skip the main ceremony.
This was Swift's first appearance in Kelce's suite as a married woman. The couple married on July 3 in a ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Kelce recently discussed the wedding on the "New Heights" podcast, describing it as a magical and intimate event attended by notable figures from pop culture and sports, including Selena Gomez, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, and Tom Hanks. Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
