Taylor Frankie Paul, known for her role in "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," has publicly criticized her ex-husbands, Tate Paul and Dakota Mortensen, during a voluntary stay at a rehabilitation facility for mental health support.
Paul, 32, took to Instagram to express her distress, alleging that her ex-husband Tate Paul filed a temporary restraining order against her, which was subsequently denied by a judge. According to court documents, Tate Paul also petitioned to modify their divorce and custody agreements. The judge reportedly stated that the allegations in Tate's filing were based on hearsay without corroborating evidence.
In her posts, Paul described crying and fighting for her two older children with Tate, daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 6. She claimed that Tate had initially agreed to extend the children's visit with her for the Fourth of July but later revoked the permission, causing the children distress. Paul stated she had willingly sought help at the rehab facility and was clean, aside from prescribed medication. She accused Tate of "abuse by proxy" and described experiencing frequent police and Child Protective Services calls, as well as a purported "smear campaign" against her.
Paul's rehab stay was described by a source as voluntary and at the recommendation of her doctor. She indicated that her children were taken from her after she sought this support. "Why would I ever ask for help again?" she questioned on social media.
This situation is occurring alongside ongoing legal disputes with her other ex-partner, Dakota Mortensen, with whom she shares a two-year-old son, Ever. In April, both Paul and Mortensen were granted mutual protective orders against each other for three years. A commissioner noted that the pair had a history of altercations, describing their dynamic as "toxic" and "dysfunctional." The ruling aimed to prevent them from being in the same place at the same time for Ever's well-being.
Paul's attorney, Eric M. Swinyard, stated that the court decision regarding the protective orders was a significant step forward, noting that Paul had been candid about her imperfections. The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office had previously declined to press charges on domestic violence allegations against Paul, citing insufficient evidence.
