Taco Bell is planning a significant expansion of its corporate presence in Irvine, California, with a move to a larger headquarters campus. The fast-food giant will relocate from its current 184,000-square-foot office to a 254,000-square-foot facility at Alton HQ. This move represents the largest office lease in Orange County in the past five years and is anticipated to be completed by 2028.

“Our new campus in Irvine is an investment in our people and our future, giving our teams more space to collaborate and create,” said Taco Bell Chief Executive Sean Tresvant and Habit Burger & Grill Chief Executive Shannon Hennessy in a joint statement. They added, “This campus reflects our confidence in what’s ahead and reinforces our long-term commitment to Irvine and the broader Orange County community.”

Taco Bell will share the new campus with its sister chain, Habit Burger & Grill, also owned by Yum! Brands. The Alton HQ campus, owned by Irvine Company Office Properties, was acquired from Canon U.S.A. for $120 million in 2022.

The new corporate site will encompass three buildings and is designed to accommodate approximately 1,100 employees, an increase from the roughly 970 staff members the current headquarters can support. The campus will feature amenities such as a fitness center, a café, outdoor workspaces, and kitchen facilities for new product development and testing.

Taco Bell has maintained its headquarters in Irvine for over four decades. The chain reported approximately $18 billion in sales last year, marking a nearly 13% increase from the previous year. Habit Burger & Grill recorded $706 million in sales in 2025. The origins of Taco Bell trace back to Downey, California, where founder Glen Bell established the chain in 1962.
