Sydney Sweeney, 29, is reportedly exploring a conversion to Judaism, the religion of her boyfriend, Scooter Braun. The consideration comes as the couple discusses the possibility of having children together, according to a source cited by Page Six.
Sweeney has reportedly met with two rabbis to learn about the conversion process, which can take between one and five years depending on the denomination. The process requires a sponsoring rabbi.
The couple has been increasingly serious since they began dating a year ago, having first met at a wedding hosted by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez. A source told People in December that their relationship was "committed" and "serious."
Earlier in September, Braun posted a birthday message to Sweeney, calling her "the woman who is the exception to every rule" and expressing his excitement for their future together. He previously described her on a podcast as an "extraordinary woman who is kind and generous and smart, and real and down to earth."
Sweeney herself has spoken about the challenges of navigating a public relationship. "I understand that I'm a public person, but I'm still in my 20s. I'm still figuring out love, and it's hard to do that with millions of people who have their own opinions of what that looks like," she told Cosmopolitan in January. She added that while she had focused on work for much of her 20s, she now wants to "experience things" but finds it difficult to do so "in the public eye."
Braun, 45, shares three children with his ex-wife, Yael Cohen, whom he divorced in 2022.
Reports from mid-September suggested Braun was keen to marry Sweeney, with a source claiming he was actively pursuing her. Sweeney recently shared vacation photos with Braun on social media, including images of them jet skiing, hiking, and dancing. In one photo, she wore a necklace with the initials "S" and "B" charms, subtly referencing her boyfriend.
