Suspected crime boss Daniel Kinahan appeared in a Dublin court on Sunday, having been extradited from Dubai following his arrest in April. Kinahan, 49, has been charged with directing the activities of a criminal organisation between October 2015 and April 2017.

He was remanded in custody after appearing at the non-jury Special Criminal Court in Dublin. "I think we all know I won't be getting bail," Kinahan told the court. The Kinahan cartel has been implicated in the trafficking of large quantities of drugs and firearms globally for over two decades, according to the UK's National Crime Agency.
