A suspect was taken into custody Tuesday morning after leading California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase through Los Angeles County.
The incident began around 7:15 a.m. when Santa Monica Police Department investigators attempted to apprehend the driver of a black Range Rover in connection with a road rage incident that occurred two weeks prior.
The driver fled, exiting the freeway into Koreatown and continuing at high speeds through surface streets, at times crossing into opposing lanes and endangering other motorists. The Range Rover reportedly reached speeds exceeding 100 mph as the pursuit entered the San Gabriel Valley shortly before 8 a.m.
The chase concluded in Montebello when the driver maneuvered into a center median, and a trailing patrol vehicle rammed the SUV. Multiple officers then surrounded the Range Rover and took the suspect into custody.
Authorities have not yet identified the suspect or released further details regarding the charges he faces.
