Controversial internet personality Braden Peters, known online as Clavicular, has explained the motivations behind his "looksmaxxing" movement, a trend gaining traction among Generation Z and Generation Alpha that involves strict health regimens and potentially dangerous practices.

Speaking on the podcast "Hang Out with Sean Hannity," the 20-year-old streamer described looksmaxxing as "the most well-rounded form of self-improvement, just almost taking it to its logical conclusion." The trend aims to maximize physical appearance and includes practices such as stimulant use and "bone smashing," which Peters describes as striking facial bones with a hammer to stimulate growth.

Medical experts have cautioned against these methods due to the risk of serious injury. Peters, however, integrates traditional bodybuilding and fitness with a new emphasis on facial aesthetics, a focus he believes has been overlooked in other male self-improvement communities.

Clavicular is widely recognized for his lengthy livestreams on the platform Kick, often filmed in social settings like nightclubs. Clips from these streams, featuring his interactions with women, frequently go viral and accumulate millions of views. He views these interactions as illustrative of hypergamy and the underlying philosophy of looksmaxxing, suggesting that only a small percentage of men in nightlife settings achieve success with women.

The streamer's online persona and content have drawn criticism for his treatment of women. In March, Peters was arrested on a battery charge, reportedly involving allegations of instigating a fight between two women and posting the video online.

Despite these controversies and warnings from medical professionals, many young individuals are adopting looksmaxxing techniques. Peters stated that his content aims to "prioritize looking better and starting to look max." He argues that prioritizing appearance extends beyond romantic success, asserting that attractiveness improves "every single micro interaction in your life," including securing employment.
