A pink sticker reading "#sidebah" affixed to a drink holder on Lindsay Clancy's wheelchair has become a point of discussion as jury deliberations continue in her murder trial. The sticker, observed on Wednesday at Plymouth Superior Court, appears to be a phonetic reference to the way her defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, pronounces "sidebar" in his Boston accent.
Reddington's accent was recently highlighted when he discussed a sidebar conversation concerning a juror who allegedly refused to follow the legal definition of "reasonable doubt." The prominent defense attorney has been a notable figure throughout the six-week trial, offering support to Clancy.
The origin of the sticker remains unclear, with questions raised on social media about whether Clancy herself placed it on her wheelchair. Some users have expressed outrage and disbelief, viewing the sticker as trivializing the serious nature of the charges. "#LindsayClancy has the audacity to put a 'joke' sticker 'SideBah' on her drink holder?!?!!! Does she think that's all a joke?!" one user wrote on X. Another commented, "The kids are in the ground and she thinks this is a damn joke?? Tell me that's not who she is."
Clancy is accused of murdering her three children—Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and 8-month-old Callan—with exercise bands in their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home. Following the alleged murders, she reportedly slit her wrists and throat and jumped from the second story of the home, resulting in partial paralysis. Clancy's defense contends she should not be held criminally responsible, arguing she was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis at the time of the incident.
The 12-person jury, composed of nine women and three men, has been deliberating for nearly 40 hours over six days. The judge denied Reddington's request to dismiss a juror based on concerns about their adherence to the law, and deliberations are set to continue.
