Carmen Efferson, Stevie Wonder's former fiancée, has publicly detailed a dispute over a Hollywood Hills mansion, claiming a verbal agreement allowed her to reside in the property rent-free for nearly four decades. Wonder and his legal team initiated a complaint against Efferson last week in Los Angeles County Superior Court, seeking to reclaim the house.
Efferson, who served as a choreographer and art director for Wonder during his 1986 tour, stated that she has not spoken to the musician since 2019. She alleges that Wonder has been a "fool, manipulator, and gaslighter" and that her past philandering has been "laid bare."
According to Efferson, she traveled extensively with Wonder around the world in the late 1980s.
She claims she has lived peacefully in the two-story home on Oak Glen Drive for decades before Wonder's legal action. The property, valued at approximately $2 million, reportedly requires significant repairs, including an exposed wall and worn wooden garage doors and window trim. Efferson asserts she has personally spent thousands of dollars on these repairs since Wonder allegedly ceased communication seven years ago.
Efferson told the Daily Mail that she intends to fight to remain in the home.
Wonder, who has never married Efferson or Lencola Sullivan, has been married three times. He is currently married to Tomeeka Robyn Bracy.
