High-profile figures from the worlds of fashion, film, and politics gathered in Paris on Monday to attend the separate funerals of Dior executive Mathilde Favier and her partner, film producer Nicolas Altmayer. The couple died on August 17, two weeks prior, after their vehicle collided with a heavy goods vehicle while attempting to overtake another car in Western France.
Favier, 57, who served as Director of Public Relations for Christian Dior Couture, was remembered by the brand as an "exceptional woman" whose "communicative joy, talent and loyalty were exemplary." Dior's CEO, Delphine Arnault, described Favier as a "loyal friend" who "loved life with a passion."
Among those who attended Favier's funeral at the Église Saint-Sulpice was First Lady of France Brigitte Macron. Also seen paying their respects were Princess Caroline of Monaco's son, Pierre Casiraghi, models Claudia Schiffer and Farida Khelfa, actresses Laura Smet, Ana Girardot, Catherine Deneuve, and Sandrine Kiberlain, designer Jeanne Damas, and former European Parliament member Rachida Dati. The funeral was also attended by Sidney Toledano, former CEO of Christian Dior, and current Louis Vuitton CEO Pietro Beccari.
Altmayer, 61, a producer known for his work on over 80 films including "In the House" and "Young & Beautiful," was remembered at a service held at Saint Germain des Pres church. Attendees at his funeral included actors Jean Dujardin and comedian Gad Elmaleh.
Favier had a notable career in the fashion industry, spending over 13 years at Dior after previous roles at Glamour magazine and Prada. She had two children, Héloïse and Carlo Agostinelli, from her first marriage to businessman Robert Agostinelli. Her relationship with Altmayer followed her marriage to Antoine Meyer.
The loss has prompted widespread tributes from colleagues and friends across the fashion and entertainment industries, highlighting the significant impact Favier and Altmayer had on their respective fields.
