Spain coach Luis de la Fuente expects defender Marc Cucurella to honor his promise of getting a tattoo of the coach's face after the team's World Cup victory.
Cucurella had stated earlier in the week that he would get the tattoo if Spain defeated Argentina to win the championship. Spain secured the World Cup title with a 1-0 win over Argentina on Sunday.
"I am too old for tattoos but my players are men of their word and I know they will stick to their word," the 65-year-old De la Fuente said at a press conference. "They made a mistake and they will stick to it. I am not that ugly."
De la Fuente has now guided Spain to both the Euro 2024 title and the World Cup. When asked where he would like to see his face tattooed on Cucurella's body, the coach responded with a smile, "Maybe a part of the body where it is not visible. But when you say something you have to stick to their word."
